Bring your class to the velodrome.
Photo: Alberta VelodromeTeachers can book groups of up to 24 students for a two-hour session with our experienced coaches. Riders learn the basics and complete Track Certification 1 and 2 in a single visit. The cost is $15 per student.
To keep everyone safe, participants need to be able to ride a bike continuously for at least 15 minutes before joining. The Alberta Velodrome provides free rental track bikes, and helmets are supplied by Lazer Canada.
Once certified and comfortable on the velodrome, students can come back to join ongoing programs and explore more — building skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the sport.

Curriculum fit
It's a physical education outing and a physics lesson at once. Students feel centripetal force, friction, and aerodynamics rather than reading about them. The program aligns with the Alberta physical education curriculum for grades 5–12.
Teacher toolkit
To make booking easy, we provide a downloadable teacher toolkit:
- Waiver forms
- A ready-to-send letter to parents
- Bus parking map for Coronation Park
- Risk assessment document for school boards
[TBD: attach toolkit PDFs once finalized.]
