Riding with a club.

Clubs, school programs and Team Alberta train on the boards every week. If you hold a membership with one of them, this is where you register for your club's track time.

How club track time works

Clubs book the track in blocks and bring their own coaches. The Alberta Velodrome Association runs the building, the front desk and the access system. So two things have to be true before you ride: you hold a current membership with your club, and you are registered with us for the specific session you are attending.

Register at least seven days before the session. Anyone who arrives without a registration is held at the front desk until the club coach and AVA staff have confirmed it, so do it early. Club sessions are not listed on our public calendar — your club tells you when they are.

Joining a club is between you and the club. The Alberta Velodrome Association does not administer club registration or memberships, and some clubs are invite-only or select riders by age or ability. If you want to ride with a club, contact the club directly. The form on this page is only for registering members for sessions their club has already booked.

Before your first club session

Not yet accredited? Start with the Beginner Pathway, or if you have ridden a track before, book the Experienced Rider certification and skip the early levels.

Hold a club membership

You need a valid membership with your club or association, arranged with the club directly. We do not sell or administer club memberships, and some clubs are invite-only. The club confirms who is eligible before each session.

Be cleared to ride independently

Club sessions are for riders approved for independent track access: all four levels of the Beginner Pathway, or the Experienced Rider certification if you arrive with track experience.

Carry a 2026 AVA Access Card

Required for any activity in the velodrome. It is added the first time you register through the form below, and is not assigned again if you already have one. [TBD: publish the Access Card fee.]

Register, then check in

Register for each session at least seven days ahead, then enter through the front desk using the access system. Your coach and our staff can both see who is registered.

Register

Register for your club's track time

Choose your club, pick the sessions you are attending, and complete the waiver. If you are registering a child, enter their name and date of birth with your own email and mobile number. The same form works from your club, or you can open it in a new tab.

Trouble with the form here? Open it in a new tab.

Weight room sessions

Clubs that book the Coronation weight room register their athletes through a separate form, with the same access card and waiver.

Under-18s are supervised

Every athlete under 18 must have a qualified coach who is registered for the session, signed in and present for all of it. A parent, guardian or general club member does not count.

If the club cannot supervise

AVA provides a weight room monitor at $25 per hour, charged to the club. Every participant still registers in advance and enters through the front desk.

For clubs and coaches

Bringing a club to the track?

Track and weight room time is booked by the club under a club contract, which sets out rider eligibility, coach supervision and the cancellation policy: bookings can be cancelled up to 24 hours ahead, with no refund inside that window.

Out-of-province and national squads planning a camp should start with visiting teams and training camps instead.
