Once you've completed all four levels of the Beginner Pathway, coached Structured Training is the next step. Sessions are built around skills and efforts rather than just laps — and a block of it is the best preparation for riding Open Track on your own.

Two ways to ride

Coached sessions

Structured, coach-led training focused on skills, efforts, and race craft. Great for building fitness and confidence with guidance.

Open drop-in

Accredited riders can book open track time and ride independently. The city's cycling community, one room — especially in winter.

What coached sessions build

Endurance & efforts

Structured intervals that use the track's rhythm — steady pacelines, timed efforts, recovery laps.

Race craft

Positioning, reading the bunch, and moving safely at speed — the skills that make racing click.

Sprint work

Standing starts, flying laps, and learning to use the banking for free speed.

Group polish

Tight pacelines and smooth exchanges, sharpening the skills from Levels 3 and 4.

Schedule & rates

Beginner Structured Training (BST) and Intermediate Structured Training (IST) each run as a multi-week block at $200 plus GST. Open track drop-in is $30 for a 90-minute weekday session and $40 on weekends. [TBD: confirm the AVA Access Card / membership rate.]
