Open Track.

The track, a supervised session, and your own pace. No workout to follow — just time on the boards.

Open track is what it sounds like: the track is open, staff are on hand, and you ride. There is no coach running a session and no set workout — it is your time on the boards, at your own pace, alongside other riders doing the same.

It runs in two versions. Track Builders is the gentler one — it is open to you while you are still working through the Beginner Pathway, for riders still getting comfortable. Regular open track unlocks once all four levels are done.

If you have just finished Level 4, we recommend riding a block of coached Structured Training before you start dropping in on your own. Being cleared to ride unsupervised and being ready to are not quite the same thing.

Two ways to ride

Track Builders

One hour, capped at 24 riders, for people still building confidence on a fixed-gear bike. Open to you while you are still working through the Beginner Pathway. $20.

Open track

Ninety minutes on weekdays or two hours at the weekend, for riders who have completed all four levels and are accredited to ride unsupervised. $30 to $40.

What it costs

Per session, before GST. Ten-session punch passes are also available.

When it runs

Weekday mornings

Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually 9:30–11:00, with occasional early-afternoon slots. Capped at 20 riders.

Weekends

Saturday mornings 9:00–11:00 and Sunday afternoons are the regular slots, with Sunday mornings added through the season. Capped at 24.

Track Builders

Mostly Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Dates are added through the season.

Before your first drop-in

Regular open track is for accredited riders. If you have not been through the certification pathway yet, start there — Level 4 is the one that clears you to ride drop-in. Track Builders is open earlier in the pathway, so it is the usual first drop-in session.

Bikes and helmets can be rented at the track. Booking also lets you add a 2026 AVA Access Card, and ten-session punch passes are sold separately for adults and youth. [TBD: confirm whether the Access Card is required for drop-in riding, and publish the Access Card and punch pass rates.]

Ready to ride

Sessions are booked through our rider portal: choose Track Builders or open track, pick a date, and sign the waiver. The booking page always shows the current dates and how many spots are left.
